Ambiental
During the entire production process of fuel and other products, we follow our development goals in accordance with our sustainability policies. We support reforestation, green manure, and environmental awareness projects. We strive to work with the recycling and reuse of our resources, minimizing the impacts of the greenhouse effect and helping to conserve biodiversity. We use carbon credits, following the Kyoto Protocol, as a tool to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. All this for a world more positive and connected with the Earth, sowing increasingly healthy relationships.
Water resources and effluents management
We know how important it is to preserve this full-of-life natural resource
Water Resources Management is a complete process within our production chain, as it goes from mapping and developing tools to achieve use of water resources goals in the industrial area, to action plans aiming to reduce water consumption.
This shows our constant concern with water conservation and quality, which has already been recognized by the ANA Prize for Conservation and Rational Use of Water. In the field, we use technologies to optimize water consumption, employing soil conservation techniques and thinking about proper natural resources management and preservation.
We take our activities of soil management and conservation to avoid silting up water bodies in sugarcane plantation areas as a responsibility. In addition, we do not release effluents into the springs, ensuring fertilization through Landfarming.
We separate the waters used for both domestic and industrial purposes in different treatment plants. These waters are reused mainly for the fertigation process, zeroing disposal. It shows our commitment to environmental awareness.
We produce organic, pure, and genuine energy
Power Generation
We have organic, pure, and genuine energy and are pioneers in energy cogeneration in the state of Goiás. We produce clean and renewable energy from sugarcane bagasse and straw. Putting together our two sites, we manage to produce enough energy to supply a city of 300,000 inhabitants. With the sale of 65% of Codora Energia, integrated into the Otávio Lage Site, to Albioma Participações do Brasil, we enabled several improvements in energy efficiency, with the use of sugarcane straw to generate energy even in the off-season. The sugarcane that was previously wasted is now used to provide environmental and economic gains for the company.
We use our forward thinking to examine every part of the process
Waste Management
Based on our Waste Management Program, we managed to cover 100% of the waste generated in our activity, guiding reuse and conscious use guided by legislation and by our principles. Hazardous and non-hazardous waste are treated in the most appropriate way for each one. But in addition to ensuring the correct disposal of each type of waste, we also deal with the root of the problem, seeking solutions to mitigate its very production. For each case, non-hazardous and hazardous, reusable or not, we manage to find solutions that increasingly minimize their impact on the environment.
We amplify positive impacts with each of our actions
GHG Emission Management
Working with clean fuel, we show our concern with the emission of harmful gases to the environment from the beginning of our production chain. Every day, we improve our processes and monitoring methods even more, searching for new ways to reduce GHG emissions. Even our local actions already translate into global impacts, such as the production of renewable fuels, use of organic fertilizers, the planting of native seedlings, among other policies. Intervening in the production process is a more direct measure to protect the environment, but we also work on indirect solutions, such as transport alternatives that help reduce the emission of gases that are harmful to the earth.
Biodiversity conservation
Without the earth, we would not exist. Our primary efforts are aimed at preserving and recovering it while expanding our agricultural activities. We use crop rotation to ensure the necessary nutrients get to the soil so that it can regenerate in the long term. We also carry out biological control via natural predators, avoiding applying chemical products in the plantation. We have an Environmental Management Plan, responsible for monitoring the current targets related to the local biodiversity plan. The proposed actions range from containment measures, contour farming, virgulas and the development of georeferenced activities.
Preserving the present and energizing are clear commitments for us
RenovaBio
Issued by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), RenovaBio is an incentive for the sharing of biofuels in the Brazilian energy matrix. Producers who meet the targets established earn the Decarbonization Credit (CBios), issued on the invoice which can then be traded on the Stock Exchange (B3). Our company acquired the RenovaBio certification, which demonstrates our responsibility in leveraging the environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable role of biofuels. This combined with our increasingly profitable production allows us to keep a relevant part of the CBios acquired in the deed for future sales.
