Jalles’ CEO, Otávio Lage de Siqueira Filho, was honored yesterday, 03/30, at the Cana Substantivo Feminino meeting, promoted by Cana Online, in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo. He received a trophy of recognition, for being a great encourager of the female participation in Jalles.

Jalles is one of the plants in the sugar-energy sector with more women on its staff. “The participation of women in Jalles is of 23% and they occupy the most diverse functions, are extremely competent and dedicated. Our goal is to further increase this number in the coming years,” said Otávio Lage Filho.

The Human Resources manager of Jalles, Mônica Arruda, also participated in the event. She was a discussant on the panel “What are bioenergy units doing to increase female presence”. On the subject, Mônica pointed out that Jalles does not make any gender distinction, offers training for women, and makes the top leadership aware of the need to hire more women.

The meeting was held at the Sugarcane Center of the Agronomic Institute of Campinas and gathered around 400 women from the national sugar and energy sector.
